Provider Updates:

Door County Transportation Options Program– The DCTOP 2011 WETAP budget was cut 60%, which is less than the current year funds, causing vanpool expansion goals to be on hold. There are currently 18 people on a wait list for more routes needed. Don suggested that a taxi be hired to operate from 6-2 when the van is parked.

Sunshine House, Inc – Pete reported SHI has five fixed routes that run Monday through Friday and also transports some clients to community employers during the day and to appointments as able. In the second quarter, they have provided 5,270 individual rides and 22 rides to individuals who were not regular riders. Peter indicated the loss of one rider to D2D Rides. SHI provides approximately 21,000 rides per year and operates on a deficit which 5311 funds assist with. Pete hopes to have the ARRA vehicles ordered soon that will be leased from the County.

Door County/Green Bay Shuttle –Don received two wheelchair accessible calls which he referred to D2D Rides. Volume of rides hasn’t changed, however revenue is down due to the reduced fares in order to be competitive with D2D.

D2D Rides
– Door 2 Door Rides provided 622 rides in August, 959 rides in September, and so far 277 rides for October. As for the 959 rides in September, 680 rides were to individuals with disabilities, 141 rides to elderly, 23 rides to minors, and 115 rides to adult regular fare passengers. Of the 959 total rides, 145 needed wheelchair accessibility = 15%. The high Saturday and Sunday ridership was 27 and 15 respectively. The County of Door is proceeding with the 2011 grant, which is almost ready to submit. Expansion may be possible if ridership warrants it.

Senior Center – Roger indicated that a handful of people were now using D2D Rides instead of the Senior Center bus.
